Privacy Policy

Who we are

Learning Resource Portal (“we”, “us”) is operated by Learning Resource Portal, based in Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to our website and app at learningresourceportal.com.au.

What we collect

Account information you give us: your email address, name, and the year levels you teach. Content you create: the briefs you write and the resources we generate for you. Billing information processed by our payment provider (we never see or store full card numbers). Technical logs such as IP address, browser type and usage events, to keep the service secure, reliable, and to improve it.

How we use it

We use your information to provide the service (generating resources, managing your subscription and workspace), to support you, to keep the service secure, to meet legal and tax obligations, and — where you have consented — for privacy-friendly product analytics. Your briefs are processed by our AI providers under contractual terms that prohibit using your content to train their models. We never sell your personal information.

Student data

Learning Resource Portal is a tool for teachers, not for students — we do not create student accounts and we do not need student personal information to generate resources. Please do not enter student names or other student personal information in your briefs. If you believe student information has been entered, contact us at privacy@learningresourceportal.com.au and we will help remove it.

Who we share it with (subprocessors)

We use trusted providers to run the service. Each processes only what they need and is bound by confidentiality and data-protection terms:

  • Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
  • Vercel — website and application hosting.
  • Google Cloud — the resource-generation service (region: Sydney, Australia).
  • Anthropic and fal.ai — AI text and image generation for your briefs.
  • Stripe — payment processing and tax invoices.
  • Resend — transactional email (sign-in, invites, reminders).
  • PostHog and Microsoft Clarity — product analytics and anonymised usage insights (heatmaps and session replay), only if you consent to analytics cookies.
  • Vercel Web Analytics — cookieless, aggregate traffic measurement (page views and referrers). It sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside Australia (for example in the United States). By using the service you consent to these overseas disclosures, and we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. Cookie-based analytics (PostHog and Microsoft Clarity, which may record anonymised heatmaps and session replays) run only after you accept them via the consent banner — no analytics cookie is set before you opt in, and you can decline while the site keeps working normally.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which measures aggregate traffic (such as page views and referrers) without cookies or any persistent identifier and without tracking you across sites. Because it collects no personal information, it runs on every visit and does not depend on the consent banner.

Storage, security and data breaches

Your account data and generated PDFs are stored with reputable cloud providers using encryption in transit and at rest. Access to production data is restricted and audited. If a data breach likely to cause serious harm occurs, we will act in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including notifying affected individuals and the OAIC where required.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account; when you do, we remove your profile and generated resources within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records (for example, tax invoices) to meet legal obligations.

Your rights and how to contact us

You can access, correct, export or delete your personal information at any time — in the app, or by emailing privacy@learningresourceportal.com.au. We aim to respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

We use privacy-friendly analytics cookies to understand how the site is used and improve it. See our Privacy Policy.
